This picture of a dried Mullin seed/flower pod was taken at the Roxborough Colorado State Park while on a field trip with the Morgan County Shutterbugs Photography Club from Fort Morgan, Colorado.

A little more about the Park and the Herb Mullin.
Roxborough is a Colorado Natural Area and a National Natural Landmark. The 3,339-acre park is filled with dramatic red-rock formations, distinct plant communities, and a host of wildlife ranging from black bears to mule deer.

MULLIN (VERBASCUM THAPUS) is an herb that has small yellow flowers, but only its grayish leaves are used medicinally. It contains vitamins A, D and B complex, as well as the minerals iron, magnesium, potassium and sulfur. It is a useful herb for people suffering from lung problems.
